Helping businesses to navigate current challenges

One of the aims for the Leicester Business Festival (LBF) 2022 in November (7-18 November) is to enable local businesses to hear directly from other businesses about ways to boost their business.

The Sir Thomas White Loan Charity (STWLC) is a supporter of the festival in 2022. They provide unique loans to new and existing business owners across Leicestershire and Rutland. Their services include personal loans for business development, postgraduate education and generous nine-year loan terms.

Lucy Womack, Chair of Trustees of STWLC, said: “Whilst the offer of interest-free loans sounds too good to be true, it’s not at all – and with interest rates set to increase nationwide, the offer of interest-free financial support is arguably more appealing and beneficial than ever.

“During LBF we look forward to raising awareness of the Charity and meeting with local business owners to showcase what we offer. We will be at several events throughout the festival, including: Creating the perfect 60 second introductory pitch (11 November) and Innovation Masterclass - helping your business grow, profit and be sustainable (17 November).

“We aim to support individual businesses in Leicestershire and Rutland to thrive. In 2021, 73% of applications were approved and we regularly hear from companies who have experience of success stories.”

Sir Thomas White Loan Charity business loan borrower and ambassador Lee Tomes is one of those success stories and reveals how fortunate he feels to have seen his video production company, Orange Fox Studios, grow during the pandemic.

Lee Tomes, owner of Orange Fox Studios, explains: “Because of how things have gone over the past two years, the way that the business plan has evolved has given me a real bolt of energy, because more money in the account and greater turnover means I can do more things with the business.”

The next deadline for applications is 3.30pm on Tuesday 3 January – a great way to get 2023 off to a positive start – however if applicants aren’t ready for January, The Sir Thomas White Loan Charity runs rounds of application windows on a continual quarterly basis.
