First Business Festival events announced
The closing date for applications to Leicester Business Festival is only weeks away on Friday 9 September. Businesses are getting prepared and booking their event slots ahead of the deadline.
The Leicester Business Festival takes place from 7-18 November 2022 and is not only the largest of its kind in the region but is also the most unique date in the business calendar. With up to 80 events set to fill the festival fortnight this dedicated time aims to support and enhance business opportunities locally and shine the spotlight on the area as a place to invest.
Here’s a flavour of what is already in the calendar for the festival programme:
The Rebuilding of a Brand by Leicestershire County Cricket Club: the story of how Leicestershire County Cricket Club has gone from almost closing its doors to rebuilding its brand and becoming one of the fastest growing sports businesses in the UK.
Business Fire Safety Workshop by Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service: The workshop will help business owners and managers to understand their legal responsibilities and duties under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
Tackling Modern Slavery in Business by Crimestoppers: This event will address the ever increasing issue of Modern Slavery and how it is impacting on businesses and organisations.
Hacking Humans - How to Spot & Survive Social Engineering Attacks by Network Midlands Ltd: This seminar will explain the different types of social engineering attacks that people may see or experience.
Plans are also well underway for dedicated events showcasing and creating opportunities around the benefits of businesses collaborating with students from De Montfort University.
And an integral part of the festival will also be Leicester Giving Day which falls on Friday 18 November. Leicester Giving Day is a simple but impactful initiative launched by Embark CSR that will enable companies and educational establishments in Leicester and Leicestershire to showcase their philanthropic support for charities and local communities. It will also bring the work of charities and community organisations to the attention of the public.

Businesses can choose to host in their own locations or choose from a pre-arranged venue. At previous festivals there’s been an impressive range of venues, from Winstanley House and MIRA Technology Park, to Twycross Zoo and Bosworth Hall Hotel, with countless events taking place across Leicester city centre, and the surrounding districts.
