Two weeks until the start of the biggest business event in the region

With just two weeks until the start of the 2019 Leicester Business Festival, tickets are flying out the door.

Comprising 115 business events of all descriptions, the Business Festival, headline partnered by Leicester Castle Business School, De Montfort University (DMU), has something for everyone.

There is everything from marketing, digital support, access to funding, legal and financial services to HR, cloud computing, exporting, economic and property showcases and so much more.

The varied programme includes events by the Department for International Trade that aim to forge trading links between Leicestershire and Chinese businesses; a huge showcase of funders and business support providers at Leicester Racecourse on 29 October and an event about motor racing and sponsorship that will be particularly exciting to those interested in Formula One.

The second British Basketball Innovation Conference once again forms part of the Festival and DMU is organising an important discussion to highlight that diversity is a business imperative not just ‘the right thing to do’ on Monday 28 October. These are just a few of the stand out events in this year’s Festival.

Bookings to events have rocketed since the brochure launch a week ago. Already, several events are full and there are many more with only a handful of tickets to go.

Scott Charlish, head of East Midlands Financial Planning at Brewin Dolphin and the chair of the Business Festival Steering Group said, “This year’s Festival boasts an inspiring progamme of quality events that will appeal to businesses large and small, and in every sector.

“Our Team at Brewin Dolphin have pinpointed so many first-rate events that we will be attending. The Business Festival will undoubtedly be beneficial not only to our employees as individuals, but our organisation as a whole. It is a truly extraordinary fortnight that is accessible and open to everyone to attend. Not many other regions have such an incredible opportunity and I would urge the business community to make the most of this unique asset.”

The Business Festival runs for two weeks from 28 October until 8 November.

Leading law firm, Shakespeare Martineau is playing a key part in the Festival as a supporter as well as running several events over the fortnight. Partner, Roy Botterill said, “Shakespeare Martineau is delighted to be associated with the Leicester Business Festival for the third year running. We’re proud to be part of something that recognises the enormous talent that Leicester has to offer, showcasing some of the most diverse and entrepreneurial businesses in the region.

“The Festival is a fantastic platform to share the innovations that have contributed to our region's outstanding growth and we’re very excited to see what this year’s event will bring.”

Tickets to Business Festival events must be booked in advance through the website, www.leicesterbusinessfestival.com.

Alternatively, a new app for 2019 developed by Market Harborough-based company, Infonote, is free to download from Google Play and the Apple store. This also allows users to browse events, book tickets and connect with other businesses.

The Business Festival is headline partnered by Leicester Castle Business School. Partners are East Midlands Chamber, East Midlands Airport, LLEP Business Gateway and sponsors are Brewin Dolphin, Pattersons Commercial Law, FSB, Shakespeare Martineau and Eileen Richards Recruitment. The Festival is also supported by Everards Brewery, Harborough District Council, Bradgate Estates, Team Leicester, Highcross Leicester, Business Central, Growth Partners, Mindera and the Nachural Entrepreneurship Awards.
