Fifth anniversary Leicester Business Festival brochure unveiled

With less than one month until the start of the 2019 Leicester Business Festival on 28 October, the fifth anniversary edition of the programme was released at an exclusive event, earlier today (October 3rd).

A prominent audience of more than 60 people including Business Festival sponsors, partners and event organisers, gathered at the new Queen Victoria Arts Club in Leicester to mark the release of the first 2019 LBF brochures.

The Business Festival runs for two weeks until 8 November and the total programme comprises an incredible, 115 business events this year.

David Rae, director of the Centre for Enterprise and Innovation at LBF headline sponsor -De Montfort University (DMU), led the brochure launch with Alister de Ternant, managing director of Associate Events (the company that manages the Business Festival on behalf of the LBF Community Interest Company).

Alister (pictured left) has been involved in the strategic organisation of the Festival since its inception in 2015. He said, “It is quite a momentous time for the LBF reaching a landmark milestone where, in its five years, it will have seen around 36,150 people attend more than 575 events!

“The Festival has grown, evolved and truly embedded into the business community. It’s not just the biggest business event in the region, but a true economic showcase of Leicester and Leicestershire and what this fantastic region has to offer, culturally, commercially and from an innovation and investment perspective.

"Furthermore, testament to the success of the Festival is the exciting news that headline partner, DMU, along with East Midlands Chamber and the LLEP Business Gateway have signed up to supporting for a further three years, securing the continuation of the LBF for the foreseeable future.

“We are thoroughly looking forward to our fifth Business Festival, starting in just a few weeks’ time. It looks like an incredibly exciting fortnight coming up with so many outstanding events. I would encourage everyone to take a look and see what's on offer.”

Rae (left) confirmed: “Leicester Business Festival is an event we look forward to every year. Its ethos of sharing knowledge, championing best practice and supporting each other to succeed is one that resonates strongly with our work with the business community here at DMU.

“I think the sense of optimism that the business festival generates, not to mention the practical business outcomes such as new projects and partnerships that are forged, support inward investment in the region

“I’m very pleased to be able to launch this year’s events brochure in partnership with LBF which details a wealth of free, practical and inspiring sessions being run throughout the fortnight that celebrate the very best of business in Leicester and Leicestershire."

Nearly every event in the LBF is completely free and anyone can attend.

Events range from workshops and seminars to expos, across a variety of different industries and sectors.
