Software developer, Infonote, launches Business Festival App

Market Harborough-based software and app development specialist, Infonote Datasystems, has teamed up with the Leicester Business Festival (LBF) to launch a brand-new LBF app.

The LBF app is fully integrated with the LBF website and provides an alternative way for people to browse the calendar, search and filter events as well as book tickets directly from their mobiles and tablet devices.

It contains details of the new LBF coffee hubs, sends pop up notifications about the LBF and provides access to a feedback form which can also be submitted via the app. Planning journeys to events is also made easier via Apple and Google maps.

Users register on the app and can then if they wish, share details of events they are attending, post messages and connect with other users through LinkedIn.

Alister de Ternant, managing director of Associate events, the company behind the management of the BusinessFestival, said, “This is the fourth year of the LBF and we are constantly making changes that will enhance the Festival and take it to the next level. An app is an obvious option: everyone is mobile these days and so the app is all about making it quicker and easier for people to find out everything they need about the Festival in a quick and simple way, directly from their phones.

“Importantly, the app is a tool that allows the Business Festival to connect businesses and individuals and help them to build their online business networks.

“We’re delighted to be working with Infonote, which is a brilliant local company. This is a business partnership borne out of the Business Festival and I am sure we will be working closely with them on other projects in the future.”

Peter Whelan, Infonote managing director said, “We are absolutely thrilled to be developing an App for the Leicester Business Festival and delighted to be working in partnership with the team at Associate Events. This was such an exciting opportunity to add value to an amazing series of events, we just had to say ‘Yes’!

“There is now, unquestionably, an expectation amongst smartphone users that events, services and organisations of all shapes and sizes will have an app of one sort or another. Apps are an immensely powerful way to deliver content, promote a brand and develop closer relationships with your customers and users. They are also brilliant at bringing information, data and people together and that’s what we’ve focused on delivering for this year’s inaugural LBF app. It’s easy to use, quick to access and completely free to download.

“We are sure the festival will be a massive hit again this year and hope the delegates enjoy the benefits of having the festival information just a swipe away.”

The LBF app is available as a free download from Google Play or the Apple store from 1 October.

There are 119 business events in the LBF which is taking place from 29 October to 9 November. Nearly all events are free and open to anyone to attend and tickets must be booked in advance via the LBF App or the website www.leicesterbusinessfestival.com

The LBF is headline partnered by Leicester Castle Business School and it also has the support of well-known business organisations including East Midlands Chamber; LLEP Business Gateway; East Midlands Airport; Brewin Dolphin; University of Leicester School of Business; Highcross Leicester; Shakespeare Martineau; and the FSB.
