What next for Leicester Business Festival?
Following the phenomenal success of the last three years, there are plans afoot to take the Leicester Business Festival to the next level over the next 18 months.
Run on behalf of the business community by the Leicester Business Festival Community Interest Company (CiC), the two-week Festival will be taking place from Monday 29 October to Friday 9 November 2018.
With more than 150 events attended by over 10,000 people and a total marketing reach of 31.08 million in 2017, the Festival is the largest business event in the region and a firm feature in the local business calendar. The plan is to now build on the excellent foundations of the past three years and raise the game by turning the BusinessFestival fortnight into the region’s annual economic showcase to appeal to a national and international audience.
This two weeks of exciting and diverse business events demonstrating Leicester and Leicestershire’s thriving economy, presents no better occasion for potential investors and visitors to experience the rich commerce, exceptional innovation and collaboration by the region’s vibrant business community. Showcase events during the Festival will then help to highlight the area’s investment prospects.
The Leicester and Leicestershire brand will be placed in strategic countries across the world using the structure of the Festival to drive trade and commerce between the region and strategic international markets including India, China, USA, Canada and Mexico.
Alister de Ternant, managing director of Associate Events (pictured) said, “We want to make sure that we don’t rest on our laurels and that the Festivalcontinues to evolve so that it stays current and meaningful.
“We will continue to work with local businesses and organisation such as the local authorities and the Leicester & Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership to improve the local feel and placement and ensure that the Festival aligns strategically with the plans for local economic growth.
“It’s a great time to be involved in the LBF with lots of exciting developments as the Festival moves forward. We want the Business Festival to be as ambitious as Leicester and Leicestershire are and put this fantastic region in the international spotlight.”
The Business Festival’s headline partner is Leicester Castle Business School. East Midlands Chamber, the LLEP Business Gateway and East Midlands Airport have also all signed up in 2017 for a further two years.
