School's out, summer's in, time to get LBF applications in
Applications for Leicester Business Festival (LBF) close 31st August 2018, businesses need to get their applications in before it’s too late.
Businesses are being encouraged to use the summer period to plan their LBF event and submit their applications before the portal closes. To apply, businesses need to complete a short application, available on the Business Festival website, by 31st August. Apply at www.leicesterbusinessfestival.com/apply.
Leicester Business Festival will be running from 29th October until 9th November. The Festivalprovides local businesses the opportunity to run events that showcase their businesses, their sector and the region's strengths during the fortnight. Application for events can be about anything, as long as they will benefit the businesses and people in the region or help place Leicester and Leicestershire in a national or international spotlight. Application numbers are already exceeding 2017 and are coming in from right across the region. With an expected cap of 125 events, organisers are encouraged to get their applications in as soon as possible.
Festival organisers, Associate Events, ran a workshop on how to host an event earlier this week, which covered a huge range of topics from event criteria, the application process, to how to get the most out of the Festival. A new Event Organisers Handbook has been released online, which explains much of the information covered in workshop for those that were unable to attend. The Handbook can be found at: www.leicesterbusinessfestival.com/downloads.
Alister de Ternant, of Associate Events, said “It is vital that businesses start planning their events for LBF2018 now. There are more than 40 headline events already in the programme, and we don’t want businesses to miss the opportunity to be part of the region's largest business event, now in its fourth year.
“The Festival needs local businesses to run events that showcase the innovation, culture and commerce taking place across the region. We want to attract companies, people and investors from far and wide to attend the Festival and see what Leicester and Leicestershire has on offer.”
The number of events is being capped for this year’s Festival and a focus on quality, impact and knowledge sharing is taking precedence. Applications are being treated on a first come, first served basis, with the total capped at just over 125. Businesses are urged to submit their application as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
Along with headline partners, Leicester Castle BusinessSchool, the 2018 Festival has the support of well-known business organisations including East Midlands Chamber; LLEP Business Gateway; East Midlands Airport; Brewin Dolphin; University of Leicester School of Business.
Other supporters include Everards; De Montfort University; Pattersons Commercial Law, as well as official app partner Infonote, and AV media partner The Presentation Group. The Festival is operated by Associate Events Limited.
