Free marketing and business support events dominate Leicester Business Festival

This year’s Leicester Business Festival - running from 23rd October to 3rd November, will see a record number of free communications, marketing and business support events take place over the fortnight.

There are 65 events in the sector being run over the two weeks by organisations from across Leicestershire, to address common issues amongst businesses. Subjects span an exciting mix from sales, marketing, media and advertising; strategy and funding, social media and exporting, to digital, web and SEO, data and cybersecurity, e-commerce and customer services.

All the events are part of the Leicester Business Festival, sponsored by Leicester Castle Business School. This is an annual, two-week ‘festival’ of free business events covering a variety of sectors including Marketing and Business Support, Professional Services, Food & Drink, Sport and Health, Tourism and Hospitality, Creative Industries and many more.

The Festival is the first of its kind to be run in the UK and now in its third year, it is by far the largest business event in the region.

There are over 150 events in total in the 2017 Business Festival programme comprising everything from conferences, seminars, workshops, trade shows to exhibitions, award ceremonies and recruitment fairs.

Most events are completely free and open to absolutely anyone in the world to attend.

Kevin Urquhart, Managing Director of FU Media - founder and publisher of SIXTY9 DEGREES and dluxe magazine brands, is the LBF sector lead for Communications, Marketing and Business Support. He said, "Brand Leicestershire has never been hotter and we are aiming to capitalise on this currency, be that encouraging, supporting and growing business from within, or attracting investors from further afield.

Leicester, with its diverse communities is rightfully living up to its premier league status. The Business Festival harnesses this energy and goodwill and focuses it to create positive change.”

Communications, Marketing and Business Support is by far the most popular sector in the Business Festival. These events are historically very well attended - particularly by SMEs and small business owners seeking to maximise free help and advice to address challenges that they face and grow their business.

The vast majority of events in the Business Festival are completely free to attend but places must be booked in advance via the website. For more details and tickets, visit www.leicesterbusinessfestival.com
